Merry Christmas!

Just in case any of you turn on your computers today (Christmas)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

So, here are a couple pics for the day. Abigail's new Nintendo DS Lite, Michel's new Diamond Tennis Bracelet (notice the brimming tears: I rock!), and Balen's ummm.... nap. More pictures later!

Pre-Christmas Update

Okay, lots happening, me not posting, so here goes:
1. Balen is crawling. Ev. Very. Where. Already up a few stairs, and back down the painful way. Yes, we know, this is a trend for our kids, shut up. Vids up shortly. Check left side list.
2. Abigail's report card is straight A's, and Mostly good behavior, noted as top student in her class, or tied as such.
3. Balen's follow up x-ray to the hip issue came back normal. He is developing fine. In fact, he is 18lbs 8oz, 29" long (tall, yes), 47cm around the noggin
4. My last day in uniform is tomorrow, 14 Dec! Heck, yes!
5. I will get ~$56K after taxes! Hell, yes! (in feb, don't start sucking up until late Jan)
6. Michel applied for and was accepted to Air Force Civilian Institute job (more on that later)
7. Michel leaves in mid-Jan for 6 months (Hell, no)
8. I will be home the entire time sitting on a couch made of 100 dollar bills, stuffed with 1 dollar bills
9. No you can't sit on my couch.
10. I mean it, I said no.
11. STOP ARGUING WITH ME!
12. [fingers in ears] NAA NAA NAA NAA NAA

Ok, we done with that?

Gifts for the kids: I know you are all hankering to continue the spoil fest, and by all means have at it.
-Balen is currently wearing 12month size, which will be good for the winter. For summer, think 18months. Toys aren't really a problem for him yet. He is playing with all of Abigail's old stuff, and the springy door stops around the house. Bungungungungungungungungung. 3 feet further down: Bungungungungungungungungung. (repeat until a moment of silence, then he bumps back down the stairs)
-Abigail: all about horses, horses, horses, horses, some books, and then horses. And some Nintendo DS games. (Santa is getting her a DS for Christmas; Daddy, too?) Check her Amazon wish list for specifics. If you buy a horse, don't worry about duplicates. She certainly won't care. Feel free to think outside the box, but still NO STUFFED ANIMALS. Bags in the basement, and still her room is like the psych ward in the local mental hospital, no way to hurt yourself in there.

Michel's CI program: The Air Force Institute of Technology will pay for Michel's master's degree, which has to be completed in 18 months. She will start in Fall '07. She will be paid her normal wages while she does this. When she gets her degree, she will teach at AFIT (in Dayton, OH) for 3 years. The only snag is which school she will get her Master's at. Will we have to move when she gets back in summer '07? Will we have to move again after the Master's in winter '08-'09? Dunno. May have 1 move in two years, may have two in two years. We'll see.

In the meantime, I am a stay-at-home-dad. Mr Mom. That's a sweet position to be in, gotta say. I love it. Balen watches races with me, yells at me when he's hungry, and I play Xbox when he's sleeping (if not accomplishing the honey-do list). It's a good life.

All in all, I am happy. Michel is happy. Abigail is happy. Balen is always smiling (the playa). We are happy. We are blessed. God is treating us very well. Yea, God!
