Balen is wearing a harness

Poor Lil Sprinkler, he has to wear this harness basically all day/night for 2 weeks until the next ultrasound/exam. His left hip socket is not as deep as it should be, and the right one is. However, they tend to have a symbiotic relationship, so the right hip could be affected if this isn't fixed. So, he's wearing this white plastic and velcro harness that holds his legs up at a 90-100 degree angle, and spreads them apart for ideal femur/hip socket placement. This will promote (with his rapidly developing body) correct formation of the hip socket. If we wait, he may end up in surgery. The difference is not great, and definitely fixable, so it's not of much concern.

"How is Balen taking this?" you might ask... He often is fine, and is normal happy Balen, until he tries for a bit of kicking, and realizes he can't. He goes into a fit of crying while trying to shake is legs, during which we just hold him and try to make him forget about it (which he will eventually).

Here's a diagram from a website I found:

It's kind of tough, especially since I am leaving Sunday morning for all of June for SOS in Alabama. Michel's job just got harder.
